The internet and socialising

Well a lot of talk in the media is how sites like facebook and twitter are making people no longer be social. In that we chat to people on IMS and not talk face to face anymore.
Well a month ago I joined an internet social networking site called City Socialising. This site is about getting out there, going to new places in your city you may not have visited, and meeting new people.
Ok being honest my reason for joining is I’m single. I’ve a lovely bunch of amazing mates, but lets face it none of them have led me to Mr Right. So I thought expanding my circle of friends, or at least making some new acquaintances is the way to go.
So far I’ve gone out on 6 socials, been ten pin bowling which I havn’t done in years. Tried my hand at a pub quiz, realising my general knowledge is shockingly bad! Sipped cocktails in a new club, been to the cinema to watch girly RomComs. I havn’t yet met a gorgeous man, but I have met some interesting, friendly new people.Aswell as going to places I’ve never visited in my City before.
